Amara Sweater English

The Amara sweater is a top-down drop shoulder sweater. The top half of the vest is worked in stockinette stitch and the lower half in reverse half fisherman’s rib stitch. First, stitches are cast on for the back and worked back and forth with German short rows and armhole increases. The two fronts are knit back and forth with increases for the neckline and armholes. The pieces are then joined together to work in the round. The sleeve stitches are knit in the round on shorter circular needles or double pointed needles.

The recommended ease for the Amara sweater is between 20-25 cm / 8-10 inches of positive ease for the smaller sizes and gradually less ease for the larger sizes.
